Open access publishing with writeLaTeX and F1000Research
We're proud (and excited!) to be officially featured as part of the F1000Research submission process, for example as seen in this extract from their author guidelines page:
An open science journal for life scientists
F1000Research is an open science journal for life scientists which offers a fast and transparent peer review process, and because all authors are required to submit the data being their findings, all of their research articles are published with their full datasets. The data is accessible for computational mining, and can be viewed and downloaded easily.
At writeLaTeX we're supporting these efforts to help make research accessible and reproducible by making it easy for an author to include all their source files with their submission. By creating their document in the cloud on writeLaTeX, and uploading all the figures and supporting files as they write, the full package of files can be included with the initial submission, not just the final pdf. And this is only the first step!
For the rest of 2013, F1000Research are offering authors of software papers the chance to submit their work for free, to help encourage the documentation of the software used in life sciences research.
