LONDON, UK: May 22, 2018—Overleaf, an innovative provider of scholarly writing and publishing tools, and Macquarie University Library have successfully partnered to provide Overleaf to over 40,000 students and 3,000 staff at Macquarie University—easily and conveniently accessed via an Overleaf custom portal.

This is the third in a series of tips highlighting features available in Overleaf v2. If you'd like to try v2 for yourself, the beta is now open to the public at https://v2.overleaf.com.

Overleaf v2 lets you search your bibliography to quickly and easily insert the correct citation. As well as simple auto-complete of your bibliography keys, you can choose to search your bibliography entries by author name, title, publisher or year. This will save you time from wading through your .bib files looking for the right keys, or trying to remember them.

Following our announcement at the start of May that the public beta of Overleaf v2 is now open for all, we’ve been collating your early feedback and first impressions of the new platform over the past couple of weeks. As expected, this is a mix of feedback on features we’re continuing to develop for v2 (such as the rich text mode), along with some small UI/UX issues you ran into when trying out the new platform.

We’ve now released some updates to v2 to address the most common of those small issues, which were concentrated on the look and feel of the code editor within v2 (compared to the existing Overleaf and ShareLaTeX editors), and on the wording around archived/deleted projects on the dashboard.

Through a series of happy coincidences, Overleaf was able to support the recent 1st Annual Trent Mathematical Science Research Symposium.

Link sharing is an easy way to distribute your project to collaborators. In Overleaf v1, link sharing is on by default. In v2, it's off by default, but you can easily turn it on.
